BUDAPEST GALLERY X SALZBURG KUNSTVEREIN
AIR PROGRAM
The Salzburg Art Exchange Program provided an opportunity to present the theoretical and visual insights gained through my research in Central America within a European context, placing them in dialogue with local issues, perspectives, and solutions characteristic of the European region. Through open studio events, visitors and participants could engage in conversations that examine the universal experiences of our time, as well as the lessons and potential responses to the crises we collectively face.
Within our consensual understanding of reality, the idea has become increasingly widespread that the only constant in our world, our history, and our collective human existence is crisis itself. This transformation manifests through periods of instability and change. A natural response to this perceived permanent meta-crisis, experienced by both global and local communities, is the recurring desire for reform and the continual need to rethink and reassess existing structures.
The residency project would be built around the documentation and examination of individual and collective critiques, inquiries, attempts at solutions, acts of resistance, and revolutionary movements that respond to contemporary economic, political, and structural transformations. These phenomena would be explored and documented from both objective and subjective perspectives, forming the conceptual backbone of the artistic residency program.
